ELVI (Elviss Zants) is a sound artist, DJ and electronic performer. His approach of late is to not use any instruments – be it acoustic or electronic, instead – to only modulate a given sound source – field recordings and his own voice is the material of his latest concerts and recordings. The case of these versions of the songs of NIKTO is similar – ELVI has only used the vocal stems of each song to create his own world of contrast and character – no other sources, no drum machines, synthsesizers or other instruments including those recorded by the band were used to create these pieces. Nothing but the voice.
